We started kinoreplex because business education felt broken
Back in 2019, I was running a consultancy that helped small businesses navigate growth. Every week, someone would ask me the same thing: where can I learn this stuff properly? Not another generic course that promises miracles. Real training that actually works in Australian conditions.
How we got here
Started in a shared office space with three people who'd all worked in corporate finance and got tired of watching businesses fail because of preventable mistakes. We'd seen patterns. Companies would invest in growth without understanding cash flow. Others would skip financial planning entirely and wonder why they couldn't scale.
So we built something different. Our first workshop in Port Macquarie had twelve attendees. We covered business fundamentals over six weeks. No shortcuts, no hype about overnight success. Just practical knowledge you could use immediately.
That was six years ago. Today we work with business owners across New South Wales and beyond, but the approach hasn't changed much. We still focus on realistic skill development and long-term thinking.
Our journey so far
-
2019
Foundation phase
Three educators, one shared vision. We launched our first business development workshop series in Port Macquarie with a focus on financial literacy for small business owners.
-
2021
Regional expansion
Opened training centres in three additional NSW locations. Started offering specialist courses in cash flow management and strategic planning after consistent feedback from participants.
-
2023
Curriculum evolution
Redesigned our entire program structure based on real outcomes from previous cohorts. Added mentorship components and extended support periods to help participants implement what they learn.
-
2025
Continued growth
Now supporting business owners across multiple industries with specialized tracks for different business stages. Our focus remains on practical education that respects the complexity of running a business in Australia.
What guides us
- We don't promise quick fixes because business development takes time and consistent effort
- We build curriculum around real challenges that Australian businesses face, not theoretical models
- We measure success by whether participants can actually apply what they learn
- We stay current with regulatory changes and market conditions that affect small business
- We acknowledge when we don't know something rather than pretending to have all answers

Where we're heading
We're expanding our mentorship program in autumn 2025 to give participants more one-on-one support as they implement strategies. We've also started developing industry-specific tracks because retail businesses face different challenges than service providers or manufacturers.
The core mission stays the same though. We want to help Australian business owners make informed decisions by giving them the knowledge and tools they need. Not through hype or unrealistic promises, but through solid education that respects the complexity of what they're trying to do.
Business ownership is demanding. Our job is to make the learning part as practical and useful as possible so you can focus on running your company.
